Sciences: Content Knowledge Study Guide (0030, 0070, 0231, 0232, 0235, 0241, 0245, 0261, 0265, 0431, 0432, 0435, 0481, 0571)
This guide, created at ETS by the people who make the Science tests, provides a balanced combination of preparation and practice for the Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, General Science, and Physics tests.
The study topics chapter contains lists of topics and study questions for the Science tests to guide your preparation in the months before the exam.
The practice questions for the Science tests are followed by thorough explanations of the answers. Helpful test-taking strategies are found throughout the guide, including a special chapter called, Don't Be Defeated by Multiple-Choice Questions. This chapter explains how multiple-choice questions are worded and how you can read them efficiently and effectively.
Test takers should note that the guide is arranged by content areas (biology, chemistry, physics, Earth and space science, and general science) rather than by test.
In addition, test takers for Biology and General Science and Chemistry, Physics, and General Science should note that those tests contain questions with five multiple-choice options, whereas the sample questions in the study guide contain four options. Sample five-option questions for those two tests are available free of charge in the Test at a Glance information available on the Web.
This guide does not include practice questions or study topics for the combination tests (Biology and General Science; Chemistry, Physics and General Science; and Physical Science: Content Knowledge).
NOTE: The materials in this study guide for the 0235, 0435, 0245, and 0265 tests fully cover the study topics on the 0030 or 0070 tests.
